Battlenet stuck on downloading new files

After spending the past week or some trying to download all the patches because the Blizz app would do it (always stuck on “Fetching Patch Manifest”), I flipped on my VPN because I am currently outside of the US, my home region. Started downloading immediately and finished within a couple minutes.

I've been trying to download the Diablo 3 RoS game client, but it takes about a full minute to download 100 KB, then it kinda gets stuck there. I've tried over 10 times, during the past 3 or 4 days, with no success As a matter of fact, the whole Battle.net website has been slow, but the pages end up loading The game client, however, doesn't.

Fix: Battle.net Issues Can’t Download Data or Install Game Files. If the issue is with your Computer or a Laptop you should try using Reimage Plus which can scan the repositories and replace corrupt and missing files. I coudn’t connect lately to battle net or D3. So I deleted everything blizzard-related from my computer, and tried to install the program again, but it was stuck on “downloading new files” with the progress bar on a few precent all the time. Took off bitdefender and guess what ? battlenet installer stuck on downloading new files. No longer getting stuck at "downloading new files", it appears my router was blocking the connection. Hope this helps any of you who are still dealing with this issue. You may just have to disable the firewall on the router itself.
